Domestic Cooking

The Cooking Kitchen has trained many domestic workers to cook wonderfully wholesome family meals. The classes are informal and fun! No culinary trick questions and no exams. Designed to boost confidence and get comfy in the kitchen – good old fashioned, hands on learning!

Want to give something back to your domestic worker?

Send her on a cooking course that will boost her confidence in the kitchen, teach her new skills and make her part of our wonderful domestic cooking training community!

The classes are informal and fun!  No culinary trick questions and no exams.  Designed to boost confidence and get comfy in the kitchen – good old fashioned, hands on learning!

The group classes are run once a week for four weeks.  The groups are limited to only 12 learners per class – this way each learner gets the most out of the course and lots of opportunity to practice, make notes and ask questions.

 

We have a whatsapp group for each class in order to support one another and share our creations when the course is finished!

​

Our Domestic classes are every Friday morning 8:30 - 10:00am at our Parkwood  kitchen at a cost of R500 per class or R1800 for 4 sessions.

MARCH 2026
6th March   -  
Seared Rump steak with roasted vegetables and a mushroom sauce
13th March  -  Stuffed Chicken breast with roast potatoes
20rd March -  Italain meatballs in a Napolitana sauce served wit
27th March -  Butternut Soup with home made rolls


APRIL 2026
10th April    -  Cottage pie with parmisan potato crust
17th April.   -  Savoury Rice with BBQ Chicken, muchrooms and fresh herbs


JUNE 2026

5th June     -  Chicken curry served with Basmati rice and roti
12th June    -  Banana muffins with nuts and dates

19h June     -  Beef shortrib slow cooked in a tomato and red wine jus, served the perfect mash
26th June   -   Lamb Curry served with paratha ( Indian Bread) 

AUGUST 2026

7th August     -  Italian Beef Bolognese 
14th August   -  Vanilla cup cakes with butter cream icing and a lemon swirl
21th August   -  The perfect breakfast pancake - both crepe and American style
28nd August  -  Spanish paella ( chicken and veggie options)

SEPTEMBER 2026
 
4th  September   -  Beef and stout pot pies

1th September  -  Vanilla sponge cake with a strawberry and cream filling
18th September  -  Greek lamb chops served with hummus, greek salad and flat bread
25th September  -  Summer salads with home-made bread and rump sosaties on the braai
